Inhaltsangabe: Zusammenfassung: Die Arbeit tritt mit der Fragestellung an, ob sich aus den Benchmarking-Ergebnissen zum Management von Personal-Ressorts sechs internationaler Konzerne vor dem Hintergrund der neueren Systemtheorien weiterführende Erkenntnisse gewinnen lassen. Dabei wird zunächst versucht, dem den Systemtheorien möglicherweise fernstehenden Leser die Wurzeln und Grundkonzepte dieser Theoriegebäude darzustellen. Eine Besonderheit der vorliegenden Arbeit liegt in der Vermeidung einer eingeschränkten Sichtweise, aufgrund der möglichst umfassenden Darstellung und Diskussion der verschiedenen theoretisch sehr spannenden system-theoretischen Ansätze. Eine weitere Besonderheit der Arbeit liegt im Bestreben eine Brücke zwischen praktischen Managementthematiken im Human Resource Management (HRM) und den schwer zugänglichen Ansätzen der neueren Systemtheorien zu bauen. Hierbei wird der Forderung einer Vielzahl an Arbeiten nach praxisnäherer Forschung entsprochen, indem die Fruchtbarkeit (Viabilität) dieser theoretischen Aussagen direkt anhand der Benchmarking-Ergebnisse untersucht wird. Besondere Stärken der Arbeit liegen in der grundsätzlichen Offenheit gegenüber den verschiedenen systemtheoretischen Ansätzen und den verschieden Lösungen der Personal-Ressorts. Damit wird sowohl den Ansprüchen der Wissenschaft als auch der betrieblichen Praxis entsprochen. Ohne den Ergebnissen vorweg zu greifen, lässt sich feststellen, dass die neuere Systemtheorie als Instrument der interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit gerade im Rahmen des HRMs verschiedene Forschungsdisziplinen und -bereiche in einen einheitlichen Bezugsrahmen integriert. Die Unterschiedlichkeit wird dabei gewahrt, und sie trägt somit dazu bei, dass Impulse für neue Forschungsgebiete entstehen.
