Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Als Weiterentwicklung des Anfang der achtziger Jahre eingeführten Btx-Banking findet das Homebanking als Vertriebsweg im Rahmen der Kundenselbstbedienung neue Beachtung. Dazu trägt zum einen das Bestreben der Bänkers bei, durch verstärkten Einsatz von Selbstbedienungstechnologien Rationalisierungseffekte zu erreichen. Zum anderen sorgen die zunehmende Verbreitung von PC's, fallende Hardwarepreise, steigende Benutzerfreundlichkeit, komfortablere Software und die höhere Leistungsfähigkeit des modernen Datex-J Netzes bei den Kunden für eine wachsende Akzeptanz. In dieser Arbeit soll nun untersucht werden, ob sich durch die zunehmende Verbreitung des PC-gestützten Homebanking Auswirkungen auf die Preisempfindlichkeit von Privatkunden ergeben. Gang der Untersuchungen: Zunächst werden im zweiten Teil dieser Arbeit die wichtigsten Begriffsbestimmungen vorgenommen. Die Ausführungen zu dem Begriff der Preisempfindlichkeit vertiefen sich dabei in die Bedeutung der Markttransparenz und der Bankloyalität für die Preisempfindlichkeit. Zusätzlich wird das Entstehen der Bankloyalität anhand von Kundenpräferenzen und des Prinzips der Lernkurve der Bankloyalität beschrieben. Anschließend wird der Begriff Homebanking definiert, wobei auch aufgezeigt wird, welcher Funktionsumfang heute verfügbar ist und welche Entwicklungen zukünftig zu erwarten sind. Nach diesen Begriffsbestimmungen werden im dritten Teil dieser Arbeit zunächst die Bestimmungsfaktoren der Preisempfindlichkeit auf ihre Beeinflussung durch das Homebanking geprüft. Dabei wird in den Untersuchungen zur Markttransparenz zwischen der Marktübersehbarkeit und der Markkenntnis unterschieden. Diese Unterscheidung soll helfen, objektiv feststellbare Auswirkungen des Homebanking von tatsächlichen individuellen Veränderungen der Markttransparenz zu trennen. Um den Einfloß des Homebanking auf die Bankloyalität feststellen zu können, werden anschließend die Kundenpräferenzen einzeln auf ihre Bedeutun
