Mit dem Ende des Börsenbooms Anfang des neuen Jahrtausends, hatten sich jedoch neue Szenarien ergeben. Die daraus resultierenden defizitären Ergebnisse im Corporate- & Investmentbanking verhalfen dem stabilen Geschäftsbereich Retailbanking zu neuer Attraktivität. Die Erträge und Risiken waren verglichen zu anderen lukrativen und ri-sikoreicheren Geschäftsfeldern effizienter zu steuern. Dies ermöglichte u.a. die breite Streuung (Diversifikation) der unterschiedlichen Bankprodukte über eine hohe Zahl von Kunden. Jedoch hat sich auch das Marktumfeld im Retailbanking in den letzten Jahren verändert. Grund hierfür ist der "Kunde von morgen", welcher mit zunehmendem technologischen Fortschritt über neue Möglichkeiten der Informationsbeschaffung und Kommunikation verfügt. Dadurch bedingt ist der Kunde flexibler, mündiger und anspruchsvoller als in der Vergangenheit. Erfolg in dem neu angepassten Umfeld erzielt nur die Bank, welche es verstanden hat die Bedürfnisse des Kunden zum richtigen Zeitpunkt, mit dem richtigen Produkt und Vertriebsweg anzusprechen. Das Vertriebswege-Management wird damit ein wesentlicher Teil der strategischen Herausforderung im Retailbanking. Die vorliegende Studienarbeit gibt einen Überblick, über die möglichen Vertriebswe-ge im Retailbanking. Es wird erklärt, welche Vertriebsformen es gibt und eine Ver-bindung zum sogenannten Multi-Channel-Ansatz hergestellt.
