Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Vertrauen ist im privaten Bereich ein Wort, das allgemein verständlich erscheint. Zusätzlich rückt Vertrauen auch im beruflichen Kontext mehr in den Vordergrund. In modernen Organisationen, zu denen vor allem privatwirtschaftliche Unternehmen zählen, werden die Aufgaben einzelner Mitglieder komplexer (z.B. durch Abbau von Hierarchien), fallen Kontrollmechanismen weg (z.B. die Stempeluhr) und bekommen Begriffe wie „Vertrauenskultur" oder „Vertrauensarbeit" eine größere Bedeutung. Jenseits des Taylorismus wandelt sich die Redensart „Vertrauen ist gut, Kontrolle ist besser". Das bedeutet Kontrolle wird zunehmend durch Vertrauen ersetzt, vor allem dort, wo eine Kontrolle kaum oder nur unter extrem hohen Kosten möglich ist. Dieser Wandel scheint oft ein schwieriges Unterfangen zu sein und wird daher noch nicht überall umgesetzt. Das ersetzen des Misstrauens durch Vertrauen erscheint risikoreich, eventuelle negative Erfahrungen prägen und bleiben im Bewusstsein. Positive Erfahrungen, also das Honorieren von Vertrauen, wird dagegen leider häufig nicht wahrgenommen. Um zu erklären wie Vertrauen in Organisationen entstehen kann, ist es notwendig zunächst den Begriff „Vertrauen" näher zu erläutern. Dies ist umso dringlicher, da sich eine Vielzahl von unterschiedlichen Vorstellungen entwickelt hat, welche Verhaltens- bzw. Handlungsweisen unter Vertrauen subsummiert werden. Lässt sich das Phänomen „Vertrauen" überhaupt erklären und eingrenzen oder ist es nur ein Gefühl, das vorhanden ist? Gang der Untersuchung: Die vorliegende Arbeit ist inkl. der Einleitung und des Schlussteils in fünf Teile gegliedert. Im Teil B werden zunächst wesentliche Begriffe eingeführt, die als Grundlage für die weiteren Ausführungen dienen. Weiterhin wird der Begriff „Vertrauen" ein- und abgegrenzt, da es, wie schon im Problemaufriss angedeutet, keine einheitliche Definition für Vertauen gibt.
