Bei der organisatorischen Vorbereitung geht es nach Haeske um ein passendes Terminmanagement des Unternehmens. Bei der mentalen Vorbereitung wird die eigene Einstellung in Bezug auf die Verkaufssituation, oder des Kunden kontrolliert. Um diese Stufe umzusetzen, muss der Berater/Verkäufer alle bekannten Informationen des Interessenten kennen, sich ge-nügend Zeit verschaffen, damit Materialien und Unterlagen bereitgestellt werden kön-nen, sowie sich auf die eigene Rolle als Berater/Verkäufer Einstellen. Im Anschluss daran, folgt die zweite Stufe des Verkaufs, die Kontaktaufnahme. Im Grunde geht es darum einen guten ersten Eindruck zu hinterlassen und möglichst schnell Vertrauen zum Interessenten aufzubauen. Folgende Punkte sind nötig, um die Kontaktaufnahme erfolgreich zu gestalten: Den Blickkontakt suchen, ein freundliches Lächeln aufsetzen und sich mit Name und Aufgabe vorstellen. Körperhaltung, Mimik und Gestik, sollen dem Kunden eine Wertschätzung vermitteln. In der nächsten Stufe geht es um den Aufbau einer Beziehung. Die Sitzposition des Beraters ist dabei sehr wichtig und sollte ca. 1,3 bis 2,3 m betragen, dabei sitzt der Berater schräg gegenüber dem Interessenten. Des Weiteren ist eine Begründung für das Beratungsgespräch zu empfehlen, um dem Interessenten die Wertstellung der Leistung zu vermitteln. Anschließend beginnt man mit einem ausführlichen Beziehungsgespräch, indem man über allgemeine und spezielle Interessen spricht und Gemeinsamkeiten sucht um eine Bindung herzustellen.
