Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2015 im Fachbereich Politik - Region: Westeuropa, Note: 1,7, Universität Hildesheim (Stiftung), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Thema dieser Arbeit ist der Vergleich der beiden Grundtypen von Wahlsystemen, Verhältniswahl und Mehrheitswahl am Beispiel der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und Großbritanniens. Untersucht wird, welches System "gerechter" ist. Mit der Entwicklung der Demokratie im rechtsstaatlichen Sinne und im Sinne effektiver Partizipation nimmt die Bedeutung des Wahlsystems für die Demokratie zu. Das Wahlsystem besitzt in der repräsentativen Demokratie eine hohe Relevanz. Die Bevölkerung entscheidet auf diese Weise über die Zusammensetzung des Parlaments. Deutschland und Großbritannien werden als vergleichende Untersuchungsobjekte dargelegt, da sie zum einen ausgereifte parlamentarische Demokratien sind und zum anderen ihre Wahlsysteme bislang dauerhaft und erfolgreich durchgesetzt haben. Ihre Wahlsysteme haben Vorbildcharakter für viele andere Länder. Zunächst wird der Begriff des Wahlsystems erörtert. Im Anschluss werden Verhältnis- und Mehrheitswahl sowie deren theoretische Eigenschaften erläutert. Weiterhin wird ein Bewertungskatalog von Eckhard Jesse vorgestellt, der für die Bewertung der beiden Systeme übernommen wird. Anhand dieser Kriterien wird der vage Begriff der "Gerechtigkeit" festgemacht. Vorerst wird empirisch auf das Verhältniswahlrecht der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und das Mehrheitswahlrecht Großbritanniens in der Praxis eingegangen. Die Entwicklung der Wahlsysteme im jeweiligen Land wird erläutert und anschließend der tatsächliche Aufbau des Systems ausführlich beschrieben. Berücksichtigt wird ebenso das jeweilige Parteiensystem und eventuell herrschende Wechselwirkungen zwischen Wählerverhalten und Wahlsystem. Die Bewertung der Wahlsysteme erfolgt im 5. Kapitel der vorliegenden Arbeit. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die beiden Wahlsysteme miteinander zu vergleichen und abschließend in Anlehnung an Jesse zu bewert
