Pretoze je relatívne bez chuti, dobre sa prispôsobuje iným príchutiam bez toho, aby im konkuroval.


Tofu, tiez známy ako fazuľový tvaroh, je jedlo pripravené zrázaním sójového mlieka a následným lisovaním výsledného tvarohu do pevných bielych blokov rôznej mäkkosti; môze byť hodvábna, mäkká, pevná, extra pevná alebo super pevná. Okrem týchto sirokých kategórií existuje mnoho druhov tofu. Má jemnú chuť, preto sa dá pouziť do slaných aj sladkých jedál. Často sa korení alebo marinuje tak, aby vyhovovalo jedlu a jeho chuti, a vďaka svojej hubovitej struktúre dobre absorbuje chute.

Jednoduché tipy na varenie tofu:


 Uistite sa, ze ste vybrali správnu textúru. V obchodoch s potravinami sa pohybuje od hodvábneho po pevný a

extra pevný. Mäkké hodvábne tofu by bolo mojou voľbou na miesanie do dezertov alebo krájanie do miso polievky, ale ak ho podávate ako hlavné jedlo alebo ho nalievate na misy, budete potrebovať extra tuhé. Má výdatnejsiu, hustejsiu struktúru a mensí obsah vody ako iné druhy tofu. Poznámka: Najradsej kupujem bio tofu vyrobené bez geneticky modifikovanej sóje.


 Stlačte ho. Tofu obsahuje veľa vody a väčsinu z nej budete chcieť vytlačiť, najmä ak ho pečiete, grilujete alebo smazíte. Lisy na tofu sú dostupné v obchodoch, ale nie sú potrebné. Môzete pouziť stoh kníh, alebo len urobiť to, čo ja, a pomocou rúk ho zľahka zatlačiť do kuchynskej utierky alebo papierových utierok. (Len sa uistite, ze netlačíte prílis silno, inak sa rozpadne!)
