About the Book

This essay sheds light on why veganism is not the optimal dietary choice and also elucidates the myriad of health issues associated with the vegan diet. Additionally, the reasons whole grains, seeds, nuts, and legumes can be deemed deadly food groups are delineated in this essay. Veganism has gained significant traction over the years and is falsely touted as the optimal diet which is an erroneous fallacy. Raw fruitarism is in fact the utmost healthiest diet since it only limits food choices to the only two healthy food groups, fruits and vegetables. While veganism does promote the consumption of some health food groups, such as fruits and vegetables, it also permits the consumption of unhealthy food groups, such as whole grains and legumes. It is incumbent to desist from consuming whole grains, refined grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds if you desire to optimize your health and avert succumbing to dire health issues, such as comprising your gut health. It is ill-advised to consume whole grains, refined grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds primarily because they are eminently taxing on the digestive system and are laced with anti-nutrients. For instance, the phytates and phytic acid in whole grains can inhibit or minimize the absorption of certain minerals, such as iron, calcium, and zinc. Moreover, the consumption of these aforementioned protein dense plant based food groups can potentially decimate the microvilli overtime and also wreak havoc on the gut lining. The microvilli play a critical role in allowing the small intestine to absorb vital nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. The human body does not have the anatomy to efficaciously break down the complex amino acids found in grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds. Furthermore, the body is not designed to seamlessly digest these aforementioned protein dense plant based foods. These protein dense food groups also contain lectins, a plant based protein which acts as a natural pesticide that can be extremely harmful to the body and gut health overtime. The types of lectins infamous for eliciting health problems are prolamins and agglutinins. During a meal, the body churns out enzymes to in order to break down proteins into amino acids. However, when inhibited by the chemicals within seeds, the enzymes cannot perform this essential task which ultimately causes a chain reaction. Once a chain reaction has transpired, your vessel subsequently produces even more enzymes. During this strenuousness digestive process, the body's nutrients are being exhausted while you in return do not assimilate the incoming nutrients. If this process transpires daily then an overabundance of digestive enzymes in the gut will not only ravage the gut lining, but will also elicit leaky gut syndrome. As the intestinal tract amasses an overabundance of partially digested foods, such as partially digested grains, there is an oversupply of food for the body's bacteria. This can ultimately cause a bacteria imbalance to transpire within the intestinal tract and lead to a variety of other calamitous health issues from bacterial overgrowth, such as the outright severing of the gut lining (Myers, n.d.). As frugivores, whole grains, seeds, nuts, and legumes are unequally deadly for human consumption, primarily because they not only comprise the small intestine's ability to absorb nutrients by wreaking havoc against the microvilli with their complex amino acids and anti-nutrients, but also decimate the body's gut lining and lead to a host of undesirable health issues. These inflammatory foods groups should never be eaten and should be replaced with nutrient dense fruits and vegetables characterized by high levels of alkalinity that also have low glycemic loads, such as avocados and zucchini. In order to optimize all facets of health, it is salient that whole grains, seeds, nuts, and legumes are never incorporated into the diet. The vegan diet renders the incorporation of inflammatory food groups permissible.
