About the Book

From the author of DEMONS: A Horror Novel (amazon.com/dp/B00UJGT6HI) comes a dark, scary vampire tale.
Sometimes, who you meet changes your life. But, what if you meet... a vampire in Dhaka?
Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital, is a booming city with tall buildings and fancy cars, yet suffers from corruption and decadence. Shamim and Tara meet during a night out with friends and fall in love. However, they meet someone else... someone with a terrible secret. Bodies start appearing on the streets, drained completely of blood. Fear grips the city. Shamim soon realizes that there is a horror stalking Dhaka at night, and Tara's life is in danger. He bands together with his childhood friend Imran and hematologist Dr. Russel to save Tara before it's too late.

H. A., Reviewer, UK
"5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting vampire tale
Good old fashioned vampire tale. The vampires are 100% evil and not love-stricken pretty boys. Nice scary atmosphere created by the author in some scenes. The plot is very reminiscent of the novel 'Dracula' in parts (or any 1970's vampire horror film). The author sticks to traditional vampire lore. Sometimes the author labours a point with too detailed a description. The ending was too rushed but regardless of these minor points, the book is exciting and well worth a read. Look forward to more vampire tales from this author."

Excerpt:

Imran lay in bed.

It was 3 AM. He couldn't sleep (he drank rum and took sleeping pills but it didn't work). He was thinking of Suraiya. Thursday night they had partied together. Tonight she was buried in Banani Graveyard. Imran couldn't believe it. It wasn't fair. She was so young. So beautiful. She had had her whole life ahead of her.

Imran hated himself for all the times he had been an asshole to her. He promised to marry her so she would sleep with him. When she asked him to make good on his promise, he said later as he wasn't sure (he thought maybe he could find someone better than her). He shouted at her. He threatened to break up with her. He cheated on her with other girls, even though she loved him with all her heart.

Imran wished he could go back in time. He wished he could take back all the hurt he had caused her. He wished he had given her more love. But it was too late. She was dead.

Imran began to sob.

"Imran." a voice said, startling Imran. It was a woman's voice, hollow but sweet.

Imran sat up.

"Imran." the voice said. It was coming from outside.

Imran got out of bed. He stepped out of his room, walked down the flat, opened the door, and stepped onto his roof. He saw a thick mist swirling beyond the railing - the side that overlooked Banani Lake. Imran stepped toward the railing. Something began to emerge from the mist. A dark shape.

It was Suraiya.

She was floating beyond the railings, arms wading the mist like it was water. She had wrapped her white burial shroud around her nude body like a saree. Her hair was black and voluminous. Her hair and shroud billowed in the wind.

Imran gazed up at her perfect, voluptuous figure. She had never looked more beautiful. She was ravishing, seductive. Her skin was as white as a Rajanigandha flower and as smooth as porcelain. She reminded Imran of ancient Greek statues of the goddess Aphrodite. Her eyes began to glow. He couldn't look away.

"Oh Imran," Suraiya said. "I've missed you, my darling."

Her voice sounded musical. Like silver bells. There was a pull to it. Imran couldn't resist her call. His eyes turned cloudy. He shambled toward her.

"Let me in," Suraiya said. "Let me in. And we'll be together. Forever." She opened her arms wide.

"Come in." Imran said. His voice was flat and monotonous.

Suraiya grinned, revealing long canines. She flew over the railing and landed in front of Imran. She reached for him with razor-sharp claws, their tips red with nail polish.
