About the Book

There are few contemporary collections of reformed devotional and theological confessions outside of scripture being used in the protestant church today. The confessions that follow are revised and re-formatted from original works by Saint Augustine, John Calvin and Martin Luther. Just like the current movement of re-casting older theologically-rich hymns into contemporary forms, these have been updated to be both more poetic and 'accessible' in language - considering the idea that a majority of the originals were not in English to start. All have been edited from works in the public domain and are adapted here for use in both private worship and in the church. Faithfulness to the original theological intent of the authors has been balanced with the need for an artistic/poetic approach in english that the original authors were unaware of in the original language of these selections. Feel free to adapt these works to your specific context! Individuals who have purchased this book may copy these adaptations for use within worship services, as long as they are not reproduced in email, recorded and transmitted, or reproduced on the web without permission. May you be richly blessed as you pursue the Trinity in your daily life. - Rob Alexander (Editor) www.trinitypartners.org
About the Author: Rob Alexander ( former Vice President of Vital Home Services, Energy Executive for multiple utility companies as well as a Marketer, Salesman, Engineer, and day laborer ) currently serves as Administrative Pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Winston Salem, North Carolina. In that position he has the distinct privilege of being able to integrate his two loves - business and theology and mix it up with a congregation of God's people who love to draw out the beauty of God's creation, redeem the cosmos, and look forward to the coming of God's Kingdom. His writings flow out of his experience with work - faith integration. Rob received an MBA in non-profit management from Eastern College and continued his quest for work-faith integration as a Mockler Scholar (Faith and Ethics in the Workplace) at Gordon Conwell Seminary and intern with Marketplace Network in Boston Massachusetts. Rob is the father of two, and is grateful for what his children and wife have taught him about the vocation of being husband and father.
