Fortunatamente conosce Angelica, un'avvenente ragazza, con cui intreccia una relazione all'apparenza perfetta. È uno spiraglio di luce nella piatta esistenza di Chris, perennemente in bilico fra dimessa passività e desiderio di riscatto attraverso la violenza. Quando tutto sembra aver trovato un incerto equilibrio, alcuni eventi sconvolgono la già difficile convivenza dei ragazzi. Lo stress, la paura e l'inaspettato evolversi del rapporto con Angelica mettono a dura prova Christian e portano alla luce gli attriti, ma anche i legami profondi, con i suoi compagni d'appartamento. Dopo l'agognata consegna della tesi, molte discussioni, alcune riconciliazioni e una strage sfiorata, Christian e i suoi compagni possono finalmente partire per le vacanze. Ognuno ha fatto i conti con i propri fantasmi o, forse, li ha soltanto nascosti sul fondo dello zaino. Uziversitari, il primo romanzo di Marco Cevoli, è uno spaccato della vita universitaria degli anni Novanta, un romanzo di amicizia e di riscatto, che analizza la psiche di una generazione alle prese con un rito di passaggio, la laurea, in modo chirurgico e dissacrante. Dal punto di vista formale deve molto alla letteratura americana del 'brat pack', soprattutto a Jay McInerney e Nick Hornby, ma riecheggia anche i classici della generazione 'cannibale' italiana, con uno stile fresco, zeppo di riferimenti pop alti e bassi, a tratti impetuoso e immaginifico, sempre molto vicino alla realtà che rappresenta.
About the Author: L'autore di Uziversitari è Marco Cevoli, al suo primo romanzo. Nato a Roma nel 1972, laureato in lingue e letterature straniere all'Università Cattolica di Brescia e master in design e produzione multimedia presso l'università La Salle di Barcellona, in Spagna, dopo varie esperienze lavorative inizia la carriera di traduttore tecnico freelance nel 1997, per poi ricoprire diversi incarichi presso multinazionali e piccole e medie aziende del settore. Nel 2008 fonda Qabiria, una società specializzata in traduzione e localizzazione. Partecipa abitualmente come relatore a conferenze per traduttori e collabora con università e centri di formazione italiani e spagnoli, impartendo corsi sulla tecnologia applicata alla professione. "Pur di non tradurre", come è solito ripetere, si lancia in mille progetti di svariata natura che danno come frutti, fra gli altri: un dizionario illustrato di fobie in formato app per smartphone, un libro di mandala da colorare, una guida a un software per traduttori, una pseudoguida turistica di Barcellona. Indomito, decide persino di terminare un romanzo iniziato in gioventù, "Uziversitari", appunto. Sposato con due figli, risiede a Badalona, nei dintorni di Barcellona, a cinque minuti dal mare e a pochi passi dal palazzetto dello sport dove il Dream Team USA originale vinse la medaglia d'oro olimpica e dove, fatto non meno importante, Marco conobbe la sua futura moglie. Trascorre le sue giornate perennemente connesso a internet, fra traduzioni, bozze di libri e progetti irrealizzabili, occasionalmente molestato dalla gatta Leo.
