About the Book

Us.

(USA version)

"Once upon a time in the history of the world, there was a class of students. And they are here, in this book, with their collection of thoughts, ideas and memories, captured in time.

Us. is perfect for teachers, students, parents to read, to look back at the year that was, the year that is, and to the future, to see if students' predictions come true."

'Us.' A must-have book for teachers, celebrating students in the class - a living memory of journeying a year together, creating friendships and memories. An excerpt from page 4:

Here's Our Class Story -

We're a team. We celebrate each others' successes, no matter how small. We will make mistakes, but that's how we learn. We ask for help, if we need it. We try our best. And it's okay to be me. I don't have to pretend to be someone I'm not. And bullying is so yesterday--we know why bullies bully, and there's no need for it. Simple as that.

We are introverts and extroverts, sometimes both. We are academics, tradespeople, farmers, creatives, artists, musicians, dreamers, inventors, scientists, readers, healers, leaders, teachers, sports people, thinkers, dancers, friends, problem-solvers, peacemakers, philosophers, defenders, writers, explorers, drivers, designers, carers, workers, protectors, first responders, funny, serious, volunteers, rescuers, builders, technologists, health professionals, questioning, searching ... we are, guardians of the Earth. Every single one of us is important!

We matter. We all shine in our own way. We make our own decisions and are responsible for them. We only fail if we don't try.

This is How We Roll:

We use the power of kindness. We are friendly. We ask for help. We help each other. We smile. Everyday is a new day--a new you. We use kind words. We think for ourselves instead of believing everything we are told. We don't compare ourselves to others - we do our personal best. We make our good, better, and our better, best. In the end, inside we are all the same, and our differences make the world more beautiful, and are something to be celebrated!

'Us.' creates positive connections between students in the class. They are a group. A team. And each one of them matters!

Created by Julieann Wallace, an educator for 25 years, nominated twice for the 'National Excellence in Teaching Awards'.
