Im Forschungsbericht Synthesen mit IX-Chlor-acrylsäure-Derivaten [l J war geschildert worden, wie durch Addition von Mercaptanen an IX-Chlor-acryl- nitril und IX-Chlor-acrylsäure-ester sehr glatt IX-Chlor-ß-alkylmercapto-propion- säure-Derivate erhalten und aus diesen die durch besondere Reaktionsfähigkeit ausgezeichneten IX-Alkylmercapto-acrylsäure-nitrile H C=C-CN und -ester 2 I SR H 2C=C-COOR' (R und R' = Alkylgruppen) dargestellt werden können. I SR Besonders interessant ist dabei die spontane reversible Dimerisierung der IX- Alkylmercapto-acrylnitrile zu 1.2-Bis-alkylmercapto-cydo butan-dicarbonsäure- (1.2)-dinitrilen: Es erschien interessant, die auf diese Weise darstellbaren neuen Cydobutan- Derivate weiter zu untersuchen, besonders im Hinblick auf die sterische Zu- ordnung. 2. IX-Alkylmercapto-acrylsäure-ester dimerisieren sich unter geeigneten Versuchs- bedingungen (bei Raumtemperatur tritt Polymerisation zu glasklaren Harzen ein) ebenfalls, jedoch nicht zu Cydobutan-Derivaten, sondern zu IX, IX'-Bis-alkyl- mercapto-IX, ß-dihydro-muconsäure-estern: 2 H 2C=C-COOR' R'OOC-C=CH-CH 2-CH-COOR' I ..... I I SR SR SR Dieser Typ der Dimerisierung ist nicht reversibel; als Mechanismus wurde eine Art Dien-Synthese diskutiert, die zunächst zu einem Dihydro-pyran-Derivat führen sollte, gemäß CH CH 2 z J /"'- RS-C RS-C CH CH 2 2 ]11 11 I I R'O-C C-SR R'O-C C-SR O "'-A "'- COOR' o COOR' 7 Daher war seinerzeit diese Dihydro-pyran-Struktur als Alternative zur Dihydro- muconester-Struktur angesehen worden. Untersuchungen zur endgültigen Festlegung der Struktur der Ester-Dimeren waren erforderlich. 3. Als eine weitere neue Klasse von Thioäther-Derivaten der Acrylsäure wurden auf einem dem Darstellungsverfahren der oe-Alkylmercapto-acrylsäure-ester sehr ähnlichen Wege oe, ß-Bis-alkylmercapto-acrylsäure-ester HC=C-COOR' erhalten.
