Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich BWL - Allgemeines, Note: 1,3, Universität Potsdam, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Aufgrund der Besonderheiten und den auffälligen Analogien in ihren Geschäftsmodellen ist der Vergleich von Genossenschaftsbanken und Sparkassen am Beispiel der Berliner Volksbank (BVB) und der Mittelbrandenburgischen Sparkasse (MBS) Gegenstand dieser Arbeit. Obwohl beide Institutsgruppen auf sehr unterschiedlichen Ideen basieren, ähneln sich beide Geschäftsmodelle auffällig. Sie konzentrieren sich hauptsächlich auf eine ganzheitliche Geschäftsbeziehung im Mengengeschäft mit Privat- und mittelständische Firmenkunden. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, die Geschäftsmodelle zu analysieren und ihre Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede aufzudecken. Es soll geklärt werden, in wie weit die Zielstellungen der Institutsgruppen miteinander vereinbar sind und so auch Zusammenschlüsse säulenübergreifend zielführend für den nötigen Konsolidierungsprozess auf dem nationalen Bankenmarkt sein können. Dazu wird zunächst auf das Drei-Säulen-System des deutschen Bankenmarktes eingegangen. Es sollen die Struktur und das Wesen kurz beleuchtet werden, bevor die verschieden Geschäftsmodelle dargelegt werden, die auf diesem Markt vertreten sind. Abschließend soll kurz die Ertragslage der Banken untersucht werden. Im dritten Kapitel wird die aktuelle Wettbewerbssituation auf dem deutschen Bankenmarkt beleuchtet. Im darauf folgenden Abschnitt wird auf die Historie der Genossenschaftsbanken und Sparkassen eingegangen. Hier soll insbesondere geklärt werden, wie sich beide Ideen im Lauf der Geschichte behaupten konnten. Im fünften Kapitel werden die Geschäftsmodelle der Beispielinstitute BVB und MBS analysiert und verglichen. Besonders interessant ist die Frage, wie sich beide Modelle überhaupt unterscheiden, was ihre Alleinstellungsmerkmale sind und wie es um ihre Rentabilität steht.
