Unternehmenskommunikation -ein vielgebrauchtes und oft strapaziertes Schlagwort für den boomenden Kommunikationsbereich von Wirtschafts- organisationen. Der Gebrauch dieser Vokabel erweckt allerdings zum Teil den Eindruck, daß Praktiker wie Theoretiker damit gerne Althergebrach- tes oder Halbweisheiten etikettieren. Was aber zeichnet Unternehmens- kommunikation eigentlich aus? Welche Bedeutung erhält diese Kommuni- kationsform für die Unternehmen? Das vorliegende Buch stellt sich die Aufgabe, Merkmale, Strukturen, und Rahmenbedingungen von Unternehmenskommunikation Funktionen zu analysieren. Auf der Basis eines interdisziplinären Ansatzes werden so- wohl kommunikations wissenschaftliche als auch marketingtheoretische Aspekte thematisiert. Der Facettenreichtum der in der Praxis zur Verfü- gung stehenden Kommunikationsinstrumente erfordert insbesondere eine Neuorientierung der konzeptionellen Grundlagen von Unternehmenskom- munikation. Integrierte Kommunikation versteht sich als ein zukunfts- trächtiges Konzept, das dieser Forderung Rechnung trägt. Kommunika- tionsintegration wird daher nicht nur in theoretischer Hinsicht diskutiert, sondern steht im Mittelpunkt der empirischen Studie. Mein Dank gilt allen, die mir bei der Erstellung dieser Arbeit stets mit Rat und Tat zur Seite standen. Sachkundige Hinweise und Anregungen er- hielt ich von Prof. Dr. Klaus Merten.
