Gender bias is omnipotent and gender stereotyping is the usual practice in the labour market in India. Gender marginalization is the unwritten mode of employing women workforce and even the most elaborate and systematic social security and schemes or the labour law mandates sadly lack efficacy in the absence of implementation or enforcement mechanism. The present book examines all aspects of the working of the women workers by focusing on five major categories of women workers in the Vidarbha region in particular by minutely exploring the national and international social security laws and systems. This book would prove to be a milestone in the road of legal research relating to women workers as it: Is a document containing all the national laws and governmental schemes with respect to social security for women workers. It would prove to be a quick reference and guide for academicians in labour studies who are expounding fresh theories related to labour and its conditions and problems. The book contains a comparative data of the women workers situation in India and other South-Asian countries that are similarity placed and hence will be a ready reckoner on the applicable laws and schemes to be used by NGOs and other women's organizations who are working for the betterment of women workers. The book has documented chronologically the governmental initiatives to secure social security for women for highlighting the contemporary trend as well as its current initiatives and hence it will prove to be a guide to the people in governmental departments in the form of suggestions. It will be an exhaustive referral material for Students of law at the graduate, post graduate and other allied levels studying laws proecting women workers. The women workers who are the focus of the study could also make use of this work to collectively organize themselves and fight for their own cause. This would be the base for future researchers to contemplate, explore and prove. About the Author Mrs. Hema V. Menon has been teaching Legal Language, Labour Laws, Human Rights Laws, Company Laws and Intellectual Property Laws both at the Postgraduate and undergraduate level since last 10 years. He core aspects of resarch are in the field of Gender Issues qua Social Security rights of Women Workers, Domestic violence against women and Human rights, Labour Laws and Human Rights Laws (National & International), Child Rights and Corporate Laws.
