About the Book

In order to wrap our heads around the reasons for the catastrophe that is the pandemic. We must recognise the necessity to address many years of neglect of public health systems over the world from Kingston, Jamaica, Soweto, South Africa, Rio in Brazil to London England for as long records began. The very success of scientific medicine over that time brought with it seeds of this major public-health disaster. A connection between biological phenomena like the pandemic and the way life is lived on our beloved planet with global economies, rapid urbanisation, and their impacts on biological, climate, and sustainability.
COVID-19 has profoundly changed our lives, causing tremendous human suffering and challenging the most basic foundations of societal well-being. Beyond the immediate impacts on health, jobs, and incomes, the epidemic is increasing people's anxiety and worry, affecting their social relations, their trust in other people and in institutions, their personal security and sense of belonging.
The poverty of responsibility is evident in the society so much so that often even scientists and politicians seem to forget that in a world with a population of over 8 billion people cohabiting with multiple other species, from reptiles and mammals to the noblest, but most versatile of simple life forms such as RNA viruses respect for nature is a requirement for the human species to survive. 'Nature will strike back at some unpredicted time in the future, a thought from author of Mirage of Health and coined the phrase 'Think globally, act locally. The takeaway from this is that nature will always have the advantage over mankind because of the element of surprise and leaders' of all persuasions displaying untold arrogance.

Right-wing evangelicals in the USA, the UK, and other western societies, bible beating, flag-waving brigades have self-righteously co-opted any discussion of religion and politics over many years. Those on the left have not done any better as they largely ignore faith and continually untying moral and personal ethics from public strategy

Unmasking corona is a powerful account of a fast-moving topical issue. It has explored past, present, and future where rich western societies everywhere that are so woefully out of touch with the values that really matter in our world.
Caught flat-footed and stand accused and doing too little, too late. When it comes to the specific COVID-19 failings of governments, like that in the UK and their scientific advisers a reflection, maybe that in places we could reflect real faith as that which alone gives meaning and the possibility to life, that successful countries were similar while the lest successful ones were unsuccessful in their own ways and multiple thousands of people died needlessly.
