About the Author: About the Author: Fredrick Keith LaForge was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and was raised by loving parents on a farm at Sandholm. He graduated from the Royal Canadian School of Artillery, Officer Candidate Program, and went on to command at every level from Second Lieutenant to Colonel in his 35 years of service with the Canadian Army and the Canadian Armed Forces. Fredrick married Vivian van Aggelan in Aug of 1967, Vivian was an understanding army wife, and together they proudly raised three successful children, all of who have produced grandchildren; the light and love of their families continues through their eyes. During his career Fredrick served with the First Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, CFB Gagetown, New Brunswick, and Delinghofen, Germany, 1963-1970.
