About the Book

------- «Soy. Eres... ¿Qué has sido? Una espía sin sueldo.Una artista sin público. Una mujer sin hijos. Siempre escondida detrás de ti misma. No te gustaba verte. No te gustó nunca. -------

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

Who was the real Vivian Maier, that great photographer? Why didn't she ever want to show her photographs? Berta Vias Mahou's great talent now brings Maier back to life through this great book.

Thousands of negatives were stored away for a long time in old boxes, and it is only after her death that someone began to reveal to the world the genius of Maier's work. Vivian Maier: a mysterious woman who finally speaks now thanks to the imagination and talent of Berta Vias, who has devoted her life to Maier's work.

The only thing that Maier always felt hers was a camera that accompanied her everywhere, hanging from her neck or hidden in a pocket.

"Each self-portrait only deepens Maier's secret instead of dissolving it. Looked from afar, those photographs are like ghosts of herself that walk incognito among the living, with the camera to her neck." -Antonio Muñoz Molina, El País
