Después de ver la imagen de alguien que haya sido reportada como desaparecida, ¿acostumbra a buscar entre sus fotos a ver si puede encontrar a la persona de la imagen? ¿Acostumbra a renviar fotos, porque está convencido de que esto jamás le causaría problemas? Una hora de tu vida es una historia que se podría enmarcar en el subgénero de novela policiaca. A pesar de que la protagonista, Brunilda, no es detective, un trabajo especial para un curso de Diseño Gráfico Digital, la lleva a la búsqueda de una mujer misteriosa que aparece en algunas de las fotos que ha conseguido para el proyec-to. Además, el inocente acto de compartir algo de ese material con sus amigos, la introdujo a una espiral de eventos insospechados. El círculo de nuestra protagonista lo completan: Yesenia, amiga íntima al punto que comparten detalles de los encuentros amoroso; Goyo, joven que se gana la vida prostituyéndose; y la pareja compuesta por Sandra y Tati, la primera artista gráfico y la otra poeta. La obra resalta el período de una hora en que la vida de cada uno de ellos se transforma. Hay otros personajes de relevancia en la novela como Michael Adams, fotógrafo y quien presta las imágenes para el proyecto de Brunilda. Este aparece en la vida de uno de los personajes con la intención de corregir algo que no estuvo bien en el pasado. Hay un hombre misterioso que al recibir unas fotos cree que alguien se ha enterado de su gran secreto y trata por todos los medios de borrar sus huellas. También está Hernán, músico de jazz, quien le tiene preparado un numerito a Brunilda el cual ella nunca olvidará. De la misteriosa mujer en las fotos, se percata Bertito, un niño de 11 años, quien resultó ser un genio en el uso de las computadoras. Otro personaje es Machito, quien es dueño del establecimiento en el cual nuestro grupo se reúne para reponerse de los sinsabores del día. En Una hora de tu vida, los personajes se relacionan a partir de las imágenes. Un grupo de amigos que ven en la fotografía, el dibujo y la música formas de completar sus existencias. Las redes para socializar, la cons-tante toma de fotos y la forma de entretenerse muestran a una juventud despreocupada de su entorno, quienes sobreviven a situaciones personales e inmediatas, sin que esto les represente un compromiso de solidaridad más allá del círculo familiar o amistoso. La novela está narrada en forma diáfana, en un período corto de tiempo lineal y ascendente en época moderna. Algunos dispositivos electrónicos y el uso de computadoras son parte de las formas de comunicación y de descubrimiento. En la narración, se describe sexo, agresiones, accidentes, asesinatos y otras instancias de cru-deza. A pesar de lo desconectados que aparentan estar estos narcisistas sutiles, la solidaridad entre ellos y el com-promiso con sus respectivas familias, los hace especiales.
