La intencion primera fue buscar un pretexto para escuchar a Olvido hablando de si misma. Y, por lo tanto, no solo de su poesia, o de su escritura o de su condicion letrada y pensadora. Yo imagine un dispositivo, como unos palitos a lo largo de un camino fabulado, como si fueran unos postes de la luz, a los dos lados de una carreterina dibujada en la tierra, como haciamos de ninos, para poner orden y atemperar lo que era pura avidez del juego que venia. Por eso con Olvido hablo del vivir, de lo que ha leido, de como entro en la vida que es escribir. Por eso voy preguntando y escuchando y poco a poco ella me advierte que somos dos los que hablamos... Por eso conversamos de componer el poema, pero tambien del amor, de la vida que pasa y no se va sino que viene. Por eso nos sonreimos tantas veces, aunque esto no se pueda leer. O si. Olvido es una poeta mayor y una pensadora o filosofa no menos grande. Esto lo puedo decir porque lo llevo viendo a la media distancia hace muchos anos y de cerca hace ya unas buenas dos decadas. Conmueve la certeza, la precision de su modo de pensar y decir, la llaneza para nombrar lo desmesurado, la contencion de los miedos, la valentia de no enganarse. Es una conversacion en varias sesiones (entre finales del 2012 y setiembre del 2013), como puede apreciarse en la lectura. Es un fragmento de vida que yo creo que da el retrato entero de una de nuestras mejores escritoras. De una de nuestras mas lucidas ciudadanas. Puedo afirmar que leyendola pasan cosas. Miguel Marinas Olvido Garcia Valdes (Santianes de Pravia, Asturias (Espana), 1950) es licenciada en Filologia Romanica y en Filosofia. Entre otros premios, se le concedio en 2007 el Premio Nacional de Poesia por su libro Y todos estabamos vivos (Tusquets Editores, Barcelona, 2006). En Esa polilla que delante de mi revolotea. Poesia reunida (1982-2008) (Galaxia Gutenberg/Circulo de Lectores, Barcelona, 2008) se recoge su obra poetica entre esas fechas. Posteriormente ha publicado Lo solo del animal (Tusquets Editores, Barcelona, 2012). Libros suyos han sido traducidos al sueco, frances e italiano; igualmente sus poemas han aparecido en ingles, aleman, portugues, rumano, polaco, arabe y chino. Es asimismo autora del ensayo biografico Teresa de Jesus, de textos para catalogos de artes plasticas (Zush, Kiefer, Vicente Rojo, Tapies, Juan Soriano, Bienal de Venecia 2001, Broto...) y de numerosos ensayos de reflexion literaria. Ha traducido La religion de mi tiempo y Larga carretera de arena de Pier Paolo Pasolini, y (en colaboracion) la antologia de Anna Ajmatova y Marina Tsvetaieva El canto y la ceniza, asi como El resto del viaje y otros poemas, de Bernard Noel. Ha co-dirigido la revista Los Infolios, y fue miembro fundador de El signo del gorrion (1992–2002). Ha dirigido o coordinado diversos cursos, seminarios y ciclos de lecturas de poesia contemporanea.
