Motiv für Planung und Umsetzung des vorliegenden Buches war, daß es ein praxis orientiertes Werk zum Thema Umweltsponsoring bisher nicht gab. Auf diese Lücke stießen wir beim Aufbau unse- rer Agentur für die Vermittlung von Sponsorships und die Kon- zeption umweltorientierter Kommunikationsstrategien. Wir hof- fen, mit diesem Buch zum Schließen dieser Lücke beizutragen. Selbstverständlich kann bei der schnellen und situationsabhängi- gen Entwicklung der Umweltdiskussion und -praxis hier nur der Versuch einer Momentaufnahme unternommen werden. Dennoch bieten die hier versammelten Beiträge einen repräsentativen Quer- schnitt durch die bundesdeutsche Umweltsponsoring-Praxis. Wir wandten uns an die Vertreter von Unternehmen und Umwelt- verbänden, die mit Sponsor-Partnerschaften schon Erfahrungen gesammelt haben. Dabei zeigte sich, daß nahezu alle großen Um- welt- und Naturschutzorganisationen Sponsoring als Form der Mittelbeschaffung akzeptieren und praktizieren - allerdings mit er- heblichen Unterschieden bei den Kriterien, die an die Partner aus der Wirtschaft angelegt werden. Den Beitrag von "Robin W ood", ein Verband, der als einziger Sponsoring grundsätzlich ablehnt, haben wir zur Abrundung der hier vertretenen Meinungspalette dennoch aufgenommen. Bei den Umweltverbänden hielten wir neben der grundsätzlichen Einstellung zum Sponsoring und der Beschreibung von Praxisbei- spielen auch Geschichte, Aufbau und Struktur der Verbände für wichtig. Die Darstellung der Strukturmerkmale gibt nicht nur ei- nen Überblick über die pluralistische Landschaft der bundesdeut- schen Umwelt- und Naturschutzorganisationen, sie zeigt auch die vielfältigen Formen und Möglichkeiten von Sponsorships auf lo- kaler, regionaler oder bundesweiter Ebene.
