About the Book

English summary: This is the first complete and annotated translation of the Qiddushin treatise into German. The translation is based on the textual criticism and examination of those hand-written manuscripts and printed works which have been handed down. These include paralleI traditions, old and modern commentaries, thematic secondary literature and indexes as well as references to rabbinie literature. The treatise deals in four chapters with the regulations and procedures regarding the betrothal of women as well as the methods of acquiring goods and land as mentioned in the Haggadah and the Halacha.
