Wie kann Realität Einbildung sein? [...] Ein möglicher Ansatz, sich dem vielschichtigen Film zu nähern, ist, ihn unter dem Gesichtspunkt des Wechselspiels von Konstruktion und Dekonstruktion zu betrachten. So lässt sich, auf den Inhalt des Films bezogen, untersuchen, inwieweit das angebliche Verbrechen möglicherweise nur einer Fehlinterpretation des Fotografen entspringt, der sich, besessen von dem Gedanken, durch das Betrachten der glatten Oberfläche einen hinter dieser Oberfläche liegenden Sinn zu entdecken, eine eigene Geschichte konstruiert. Zunächst werde ich einige theoretische Grundlagen zum Verhältnis von Fotografie und (abgebildeter) Wirklichkeit sowie zur Wahrnehmung von fotografischen Bildern durch Subjekte darlegen, um anhand dieser Überlegungen bereits erste Bezüge zur Filmhandlung herzustellen. Im darauffolgenden Teil meiner Arbeit werde ich erklären, warum die Filmhandlung als Konstruktion und Dekonstruktion eines Kriminalfalls verstanden werden kann. Hierbei soll vor allem die Sequenz, in der Thomas seine im Park gemachten Auf-nahmen vergrößert und analysiert, einer genaueren Betrachtung unterzogen werden. Abschließend möchte ich darlegen, mit welchen Mitteln der Regisseur es schafft, die inhaltlich aufgeworfenen Thematiken auf der formalen Ebene des Films widerzuspiegeln und zu unterstützen.
