Innocence lost, childhood denied,
The horrors of war, no place to hide,
Bombs and bullets, the sounds of fear,
Children are forced to grow up, far too near.
They once played with toys, laughed, and smiled,
Now they're haunted by nightmares, terror compiled,
Their homes were destroyed, their families torn,
All they have left is pain, anguish, and scorn.
The playgrounds are now empty, the streets are bare,
All they see is destruction, a world so unfair,
Their future is uncertain, their dreams shattered,
Their childhood was lost, their innocence tattered.
They witness death, destruction, and despair,
And learn to cope with a life so unfair,
Their hearts are heavy, their minds scarred,
And the memories of war, forever marred.
We must protect the children, let them thrive,
Give them hope, help them survive,
For they are the future, the light of our days,
Let us protect them, in every single way.
