The Twain Shall Meet is a collection of stories dealing with cross-cultural interaction. They are stories of love and betrayal, of sacrifice and revenge, of hope and despair, of brutality and forgiveness, enacted by a colorful cast of characters drawn from all walks of life- professors, doctors, business executives, tribal chiefs, village astrologers, bandits, magicians, housewives, fashion models, cooks, housemaids, eccentric uncles, one-eyed waiters, and octogenarian aunts. About the Author: Nirmala Moorthy has contributed over 200 articles and short stories to newspapers and magazine in ten Pacific Rim countries, India, West Africa, and the United States of America. Her first novel Maya was published by Penguin in 1997, and was a finalist for the San Diego Book Awards. As also her second novel The Coiled Serpent published by Clocktower Fiction in 2000. Her third novel The River Turned Red was brought out by Publish America in 2003. Many of her short stories and novels have been accepted as reference material for courses in Indian and Californian universities.
