About the Book

This is a true story about a middle school girl who experienced a high school life at Woodbridge High School in Irvine, Orange County, California.

Before I immigrated to America, I was almost gone through the half of the first semester in 9th grade at Kwangshin Middle School in Korea. When I transferred to Woodbridge High School, because of the strict regulations on the age limit in Irvine Unified School District, I had no choice but to skip the 9th grade and start my new years of high school as a 10th grader.

I had much difficulty in adjusting myself to the new life in America because I skipped the 9th grade in high school not only in Korea but also in America.

While I was in Korea, I wanted to study in America, because I was exhausted with studying only for examinations and complicated relationship with classmates at school.

My first one month experience in America was more than shock. I was a frog in a small pond. The real America is different from the rumors that sex and drugs are easy to get access. Many students enjoy studying were awaiting me in America.

Irvine city is famous for its good education environments so that I have to finish home works almost every day. I am surprised to find American students study harder than Korean students. I am very happy with my life in Woodbridge high school so that I want to share the experiences with you.

I hope this book would be of great help for those who consider studying in America, because I am well aware of what you need to know about studying in the United States of America.

What to prepare before you study in America?
What is the real life in American high school?
What is the difference between American school and Korean school?
What are the good points and bad points in studying abroad?
What to do to get good credits?
How to make good friends?
Do you need a book to help you and to keep it preciously?
Do you want a book full of many pictures of American high school?
Do you need a book to get a sense of confidence?

I hope this is the book you are looking for and this book would be a compass for your new American life.
