About the Book

TROPAES is what I refer to as the fictional biography of a Warlock. The story of John Tropaes is one of sympathy, disgust, love, horror, passion, and a root for the triumph of an underdog. Born the son of poor Mississippi Cotton Farmers in 1822, he would early in life discover certain metaphysical gifts he possessed, and with the progression of age, so grew the strength of unexplainable abilities. When he was twenty-eight, his quest for knowledge and the power took him to the cross-over that would propel him to a world without death and a degree of Magical proficiency that would forever label him a Warlock. This is his story. From those early days in the 19th century to where he now stands in the new and current millennium. He rode with Frank and Jesse James. He met and fell in love with Larayna Lake, the chamber maid of Monica and Wendel Ravenwood, an evil satanic worshipping pair whose residency was a monstrous gothic Mansion at the turn of the 20th century. He and Larayna adopted a child whose homicidal tendencies would turn their world upside down. He robbed with Bonnie & Clyde. He spent years trapped in a world of the dead that he himself created with the spirits of those he'd killed. He ran a city founded on his thirst for power, supernatural power, fueled by the consumption of the living hearts of his victims. And when he came to face the unexpected truth of his lifelong nemesis, he had to turn to their mutual ground and his conviction of faith for the battle. John Tropaes is like any of us who labor between our dark side and the light of goodness in our hearts. The only difference is his ability to rule in either world.
About the Author: I have written 23 Short Stories, 7 Screenplays, and 2 Novels. One of my short stories, "The Sideshow," was accepted for publication in GRIMOIRE magazine. Another of my short stories, "Brandi and the Trench Coat Man," has been turned into a short film entitled "Evil Within," and has since been set up to show in various film festivals. One of my screenplays, a Romantic Comedy, called "FIRES OF EVA" has been optioned to 'S Entertainment' in Canada. They are the film company that produced the movie "Pump Up The Volume" with Christian Slater. Another of my screenplays, a Comedy, called "SEANCE" came in as a Quarter Finalist in the 2002 'Next Success Writing Contest' in Hollywood, CA. This script has been read by Actress, Kathy Najimy, and she has expressed sincere interest in portraying the character, Rebecca Spritz, if I were to find a Director for it. My other scripts include: An Action/Suspense/Thriller, "WASTELAND STALKERS" (which I personally believe would be a great pilot for an HBO series). An Action/Adventure/ Thriller, "LEAVING BABYLON." And a Horror/Drama in the same vein as 'The Sixth Sense, ' "DEADLOCK." My first Novel, "THE MELTING" is the Horror story of vengeance of the dead, and is available in Trade size Paperback. My second Novel; the fictional biography of a Warlock is called "TROPEAS." I am currently at work on my third Novel; a story of deceit and mystery called "DAMEN BRIAR." My Screenplays are currently advertised online at, TheSource.com, Filmpeople.net, and Scriptfly.com
