Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,3, Universität Leipzig, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Ich folgte dem Rufe, und wie nichts zu dem Entschluss so entscheidend wirkte, als der Beifall und der heilige Zuruf der Gattin, die nicht aufhörte, Alles zu thun und zu opfern, so hat später auf der gefahrvollen Laufbahn mich nichts so gestärkt und ermuthigt, als ihre Briefe."1 Dieses Zitat geht aus den Hinterlassenschaften des Herrn Carl Friedrich Friccius hervor und deutet an, wie wichtig für ihn das Schreiben und Empfangen von Briefen war. Besonders zu Zeiten, als er sich weit weg von seiner Heimat befand, war es ihm wichtig, dass seine Angehörigen wohlauf waren und er Neuigkeiten austauschen konnte. Ebenso war es für ihn von Bedeutung seine Erlebnisse jemanden mitteilen zu können, denn wenn er in der obigen Aussage von "gefährlicher Laufbahn" spricht, so meint er die Zeit der Befreiungskriege zu Beginn des 19.Jahrhunderts. Der Brief, mit dem sich diese Ausarbeitung befasst, ist jedoch nicht an seine Frau adressiert, sondern an seinen Freund und Schwager Ferdinand Meier. Der Brief in seinem Genre ist in jeglicher Weise besonders, da er privater Natur ist und der Schreiber nicht davon ausgeht, dass weitere Personen neben dem Empfänger den Inhalt lesen und verstehen, falls dies nicht ausdrücklich gewünscht sein sollte. Dadurch kann man, gerade deswegen, realitätsnahe Widerspiegelungen der Geschehnisse erwarten. Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es somit, durch die Analyse des Briefinhalts zum einen zu klären, aus welchem Grund das Schriftstück verfasst wurde und was er für Themen behandelt, sowie zum anderen weitere Aussagen über die Person Carl Friccius zu treffen, die womöglich neue Rückschlüsse auf sein Leben zulassen. Erwähnte Personen bzw. Ereignisse und Schauplätze könnten dabei eine Rolle spielen. Grundlage soll dabei vor allem die buchstabengetreue Transkription der in deutscher Kurrentschrift verfassten Hands
