About the Book

Town of Salvation deals with the topic of guilt and how it is properly dealt with in relation to God. Each religion has its method of dealing with guilt and it is basically the same. They seek to deal with their guilt by performing some type of good works to gain favor with God. They believe their good works make them acceptable to enter heaven. The author shows, by a trip into a town called Salvation that this thinking is totally opposite of the teaching of the Bible. He goes on to illustrate how Christianity is different from every other religion of the world because of God's requirement for salvation in which our good works are not the correct currency. The author then takes the reader into Gift Shoppe to show God's wonderful plan of salvation in a very understandable way. Walk the aisles of the Gift Shoppe with him and see the selections needed to procure your salvation. You will find this walk interesting and unique.
About the Author: About the Author Pastor Jim Olah was born in Muskegon, Michigan. I received his pastoral training at the Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music. I also attended a couple of community colleges and William Tyndale College. In Grand Rapids I met my wife of 43 years, Nancy. She died in 2012 after a short bout with cancer. I started off as a youth pastor in Lapeer, Michigan and after that held two pastorates. The first Church was in Port Huron, Michigan and the other in Davison, Michigan. Each church allowed me to experience many opportunities to learn and grow in my faith and experiences. My passion has always been to teach and help people grow in their faith. When I was a Youth Pastor in Lapeer I was involved in teaching the Coral Ridge Evangelism training program. This helped me to understand the needs people have in understanding what salvation is. Even many Christians fail to understand the basis of their salvation. This book was born out of a desire to help people under either how to get saved or just to understand the basis of their salvation. In the late 80's I was involved with group of men concerned for the country of Myanmar (Burma). We had opportunity to publish a Bible in the Falam Chin language, and to start a seminary. In 1998 I traveled with other board members from our mission to work on the Bible Project and teach in the seminary. I was also on the founding board for Michigan Theological Seminary which is now Moody Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Michigan. One of my joys over the years has been to teach a version of "Walk thru the Old Testament."
