About the Book

Child of the Four Realms: Toro - The journey to the crossroads of the world (Pawns on a large chess board)

This is part one of dark fantasy comic series written by author: Peaceful grass.

An adopted child, he was born and raised in a world filled with magic, cultivators, and mythical creatures. Facing hate from those around him and going through life's major events. Toro embarks on a journey to find his origins. He accidentally discovers shocking secrets surrounding himself. Catastrophic battles gradually forged a resilient and strong young man. In a magical world that is beautiful but also full of scary darkness manipulated by those with absolute power, Toro and his companions gradually feel the pain and helplessness of little fates. People are manipulated and crushed at the bottom of the world, they still struggle every day to survive.
There are corrupt people who become devils in a world full of crime, and there are also people who give up resistance. Power struggles lead to wars that make human lives extremely cheap in that chaotic world. There, right and wrong become ambiguous like the moon in water and flowers in a mirror. People are willing to harm and kill each other just to live. There are still bright shining flowers of ordinary but noble people, but they are too small compared to the darkness that covers the world.
Toro and his friends cannot escape their fate of being manipulated like little pawns. The young man has gradually matured through battles of blood and fire, tears and loss. Betrayal and pain made Toro gradually lose faith in the good in this world, but it made him even stronger to continue on the long journey of fate. The stronger Toro becomes, the more he understands the world and also understands that his own destiny is being manipulated by terrifying existences.
Will Toro do anything to change his destiny or will he accept to live like a pawn on a large chessboard created by those terrifying existences?
The young man's choice not only determines his own fate, but also entails great changes in the wider world and the people around Toro.
This dark fantasy story is filled with great battles of magic and mythical creatures. Not only does it have heroic battles, but it also deeply depicts other pieces of war, it is pain, it is separation, it is also loss and suffering. There, there is no absolute right or wrong, no eternal ideals, only small people like Toro still trying to struggle to survive. But in that dark world, we can still find a little light of love, friendship, trust and entrusting our lives to the people we trust. Sometimes it's also about fighting to protect the things we love.
At the end of the day, anyone in this world always needs a reason for us to move forward every day, it could be someone or even a small belief or dream. But people always try to live like a human.
