About the Author: A.L. Cain is a graduate of the University of Denver. Cain was born in Denver, Colorado but grew up in a suburb just north of Denver. She has been singing since before she could talk. By the age of three, she knew most of the Motown classics by heart. Truly, she is a fan of all genres of music, from Gospel and R&B, to Rock, Alternative, Hip Hop, Opera, Classical, Rockabilly, and even some Country. Influences range from Tina Turner, David Bowie, Billy Holiday, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire, Rachelle Ferrell, Prince, Marian Anderson, Jessye Norman, Sam Cooke, Queen, Patsy Cline, Jerry Lee Lewis to Aretha Franklin...and the list goes on. In high school Cain sang in an a cappella group Raging Harmonies, which covered contemporary songs and performed around the Denver area as well as competitions. Cain has been writing songs starting at age six. The first song was a Gospel song and was performed in front of a little under 500 people. Since then, she has written close to one hundred or more songs, some of which have been well received by peers and people alike. She is pursuing music full time now. Her biggest goal is to make an undeniable impact on music and entertainment alike: ambitious, yes! Obtainable...we shall see.
