About the Book

If you are a person of Faith striving to be a good Christian disciple and have wondered how to reach an increasingly apathetic, skeptical, even hostile culture, this Toolkit is for you. The Toolkit for Evangelization is easy-to-use and an essential foundational tool for all Christians seeking to engage contemporary men and women. First, it teaches fundamental truths about our human existence that can easily be known by anyone through simple reason and experience. These truths are common to all human beings and undergird who we are, from whence we came and where we are going. Rather than starting our conversations from the "top" (with belief in God, Sacred Scripture and Tradition), it is necessary to first find common ground: what we can all know from reason and experience. In this way, we begin by building a bridge between unbelief and Faith. The Toolkit then deepens the missionary's engagement with these truths through individual and group exercises, and then provides tools for missionary engagement with the world. By engaging the people of our culture in conversations that target these fundamental realities, engaging them where they are at, we have a better chance of leading them to a joy-filled life of Faith in Jesus Christ.
About the Author: Father James Bromwich was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky in 2003 after having received a Master's of Divinity degree from St. Mary of the Lake University-Mundelein Seminary. He subsequently received a Licentiate in Sacred Theology, writing his thesis on Pope John Paul II's Theology of the New Evangelization and the Laity in Light of Contemporary Culture. Prior to ordination, Fr. Bromwich earned an Master's degree in International Conflict Intervention/Humanitarian Intervention from the Patterson School of Diplomacy at the University of Kentucky, an Master's degree in Catholic Thought and Life from St. Meinrad School of Theology in Indiana, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky and a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Arkansas. Fr. Bromwich's areas of particular interest include human dignity and vulnerable populations, the violations of natural law and human dignity and how these have (and continue to) generate genocides and mass atrocities, as well as biomedical ethics. After serving as a Parochial Vicar for one year, Fr. Bromwich served as Administrator and Pastor of three parishes for six years in South Central Kentucky. At the invitation of Bishop Kevin Rhoades, Fr. Bromwich and Fr. Daniel Whelan moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2012 to form a new community of priests and brothers in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, with a focus on the New Evangelization, especially with families, and promoting the dignity of the human person. Fr. Bromwich is currently an Adjunct Professor of Medical Ethics at the University of St. Francis, part-time chaplain at St. Joseph Hospital and President and Founder of The Neri Institute (named after St. Philip Neri, dubbed the "second apostle of Rome"), a think tank dedicated to promoting the dignity of the human person and the New Evangelization through teaching, scholarship and the media.
