Do you need to tithe?
Yes, God demands it, and it is also a sign of love and respect for God. When you tithe according to the Bible, you will truly be blessed. But if you do it according to your pastor, you won't be blessed at all; it will just be a waste of your hard-earned money. Therefore, it is better not to tithe than to tithe the way your pastor commands.
I am not saying you shouldn't tithe. I am saying that there is nothing wrong if you don't tithe the way today's churches and pastors are demanding from you. It is not a sin if you don't turn your so-called Tithe over to the church or the pastor.
So, the Tithe is not a resource to build a church or for the pastor to live largely. Instead, tithes are substances meant to take care of the needy (not necessarily the poor), first for the Levite, and then the Levite is to share with the pastor and then for anyone in need.
The Priest/Pastor may not like to hear this, but it is the truth from the same Bible you have. The tithes primarily belong to the Levites. Neh 10:38
WHERE DO I TITHE?
Take it to God yourself by using it to bless the people that God brings your way; they can be strangers, family members, friends, or neighbors, whichever. Do it as directed by God.
And if you must take it to Church, the Church must have a storehouse; else they don't deserve or have the right to collect the Tithe. So, bring all your tithes to the Storehouse of God. That's what the Bible says. Not to your pastor or priest, not to your Church or worship temple, not at all, but to the Storehouse of God.
Lastly, you can spend it to enjoy yourself if there is no storehouse in your Church, but you must pay the accumulation of such Tithe to the needy every three years. The Bible said it, and I quote " Deut 14:22-15:1
Who's to collect the Tithe?
The Bible says the Levites are to receive the Tithe and manage it as they see fit, not the Pastor, Church accountant, or Church bank account, but the Levite. Neh 10:37 KJV
According to the verse, the pastor has no right to collect the Tithe, use it for anything, or withdraw it from the bank account where it was deposited. The pastor has no right over any part of the Tithe, but the Levite does. It is their right and duty. I didn't say so. The Bible did: Neh 13:5 KJV, Deut 26:12 ASV.
