La presente obra contiene una colección de poemas del más grande poeta del siglo XX e inicios del siglo XXI, Don Luis Ángel Casas; que, en sus primeras ediciones o ediciones príncipes, fueron publicados en poemarios separados de pequeñas dimensiones. Estos poemarios fueron, en el orden cronólogico, los siguientes: "La Tiniebla Infinita (Sonetos)", con una Nota Preliminar del gran poeta mexicano Enrique González Martínez, Editorial Bolívar, S. de R.L., México, D.F., 3 de Marzo de 1948; "Pepe del Mar y Otros Poemas. Con la Versión Rítmica de "El Cuervo" de Edgar Allan Poe", con una Introducción de Don Edmundo Lazo, Editado en La Habana, en los Talleres Tipográficos ALFA, 23 de Marzo de 1950; "El Genio Burlón y Otros Poemas", editado por Cuadernos ISLA, de la Organización Nacional de Bibliotecas Ambulantes y Populares, La Habana, Cuba, 1959; "La Palabra Poética", discurso pronunciado el 23 de Abril de 1965, Día del Idioma, en occasion de su ingreso en la Academia Cubana de la Lengua, a la edad de treinta y seis años. Dicho discurso, realizado en 70 octavas reales, fue publicado en México, en la Revista Ábside, que entonces dirigió el humanista y polígrafo mexicano Alfonso Junco, de la Academia Mexicana de la Lengua, en el número Correspondiente a Abril-Junio de 1970. Y, finalmente, "Poemas Cubanos en Décimas Criollas", escritos en La Habana en el año 1964, publicados en Miami en el año 2003. Estos poemas creados por el poeta Luis Ángel Casas merecen ser estudiados por todos aquellos especialistas en la rima y creación poética; de igual forma leído por los amantes de la buena poesía.
About the Author: Poeta, cuentista y novelista cubano. Nació en La Habana el 10 de Julio de 1928. Desde 1980 reside en Miami, Florida, Estados Unidos de América. Autor de una extensa obra poética y narrativa que venido publicándose en varios volúmenes desde hace más de medio siglo. A esa obra pertenecen, entre otros muchos, los siguientes títulos: "La tiniebla infinita" (sonetos, México, 1948, prólogo de Enrique González Martínez); "Pepe del Mar y otros poemas" (La Habana, 1950); "Trece cuentos nerviosos" (La Habana, 1954); "El Genio Burlón y otros poemas" (La Habana, 1959); "Los músicos de la muerte" (novela histórico-filosófica, Miami, 1989); "Trece cuentos nerviosos. Narraciones burlescas y diabólicas" (Ediciones Universal, Miami-Barcelona, 1990); "La palabra poética" (discurso de ingreso en la Academia Cubana de la Lengua, en 70 octavas reales, La Habana, 1965), Primera Edición: México, 1970. Segunda Edición: Miami, 1991); "Cuentos para la medianoche" (Ediciones Universal, Miami, 1992); "El Mesías o La epopeya de los tiempos" (poema épico-lírico en cuatro cantos y 109 octavas reales, La Habana, 1961). Primera Edición: Nueva York, 1998, en "Tercer Milenio", de la serie "Poesías de la Colección Salesiana"). Candidato al Premio Nobel de Literatura, propuesto por la Tertulia Cubana, de Houston, Texas; por la Chicago State University y otras instituciones, y oficialmente aceptado por la Academia Sueca. El poeta D. Luis Ángel Casas falleció a la edad de 85 años, el día martes 30 de Julio de 2013, en la ciudad de Miami, Florida, Estados Unidos de América. Estuvo casado en segundas nupcias con la poetisa Noemí Fernández Triana, quien le había antecedido en el viaje a la eternidad el 20 de Marzo de 2013, en Miami, Florida.
