Acerca de Michel Onfray:

Michel Onfray nació el 1 de enero de 1959 en Argentan, Francia, en el seno de una modesta familia normanda. Cuando tenía diez años, fue abandonado en un orfanato salesiano. Trabajó en una fábrica de quesos y fue empleado ferroviario. Se doctoró en filosofía con 27 años con la tesis Les implications éthiques et politiques des pensées négatives de Schopenhauer à Spengler [Las implicaciones éticas y políticas del pensamiento negativo, de Schopenhauer a Spengler]. De 1983 a 2002, enseñó filosofía en un instituto de formación profesional de la ciudad de Caen. En 2002, junto con otros profesores de filosofía, crea la Universidad Popular de Caen, donde da seminarios anuales, gratuitos y libres, en los que cruza hedonismo, anarquismo y estética. Reconocido ateo y socialista libertario, Onfray tuvo gran repercusión con su Tratado de ateología, publicado en 2005 por Ediciones de la flor. Thoreau, el salvaje es su primer libro publicado en Ediciones Godot.
