Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Theologie - Systematische Theologie, Note: 1,3, Universität Kassel (Institut für evangelische Theologie), Veranstaltung: Der Beitrag von Kirchen / Religionen zur Überwindung von Gewalt, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Als der Bauernkrieg am 15. Mai 1525 bei Frankenhausen in Thüringen auf eine seiner bedeutendsten Schlachten zusteuerte, war ein Theologe Anführer der Bauern im Kampf gegen die Fürsten. Ein tief religiöser Mensch an der Spitze einer Bewegung, welche auf eine neue Gesellschaftsordnung abzielt und bereit ist, diese mit Gewalt herbeizuführen? Wie passen jene zunächst scheinbar widersprüchlichen Forderungen zusammen, wenn man diese vor dem Hintergrund urchristlicher Werte in Form von Barmherzigkeit, Friedensstiftung und Sanftmut (Bergpredigt, z.B. Matthäus 5, 3-12) reflektiert? Für Thomas Müntzer, den Mann an der Spitze des Bauernhaufens, ergab sein Handeln Sinn. Doch um zu verstehen, warum Müntzer gegen die Fürsten in die Schlacht zog, muss man einige Schritte vorab ansetzen. Schließlich gab Müntzer sich nicht einer opportunistischen Bewegung hin, welche für ihn materielle Vorteile versprach. Vielmehr basieren seine Zielvorstellungen darauf, die richtigen Bedingungen zur Ausgestaltung des Gottesglaubens im damaligen Heiligen Römischen Reich Deutscher Nation herzustellen. An dieser Ausgestaltung hatten die Fürsten im Weltbild Müntzers einen maßgeblichen Anteil. Daher erfolgt in dieser Ausarbeitung zunächst eine Darstellung zu den Aufgaben von Kirche und Fürstentum aus Müntzers Sicht. Auf dieser Basis lassen sich Obrigkeits- und Widerstandsvorstellungen Müntzers skizzieren, welche im weiteren Verlauf der Arbeit im Kontext des Bauernkrieges reflektiert werden. Zum Abschluss dieser Ausarbeitung wird ein Fazit der wesentlichen Elemente Müntzers Lehre gegeben.
