#THETWIN IS AN ENTERTAINING AND ENGAGING SOCIAL SCIENCE FICTION. A vividly illustrated story of twin planets, twin heroines, and twin virtues. It touches on sciences now approaching inflection points, points where past no longer predicts the future: artificial intelligence, robotics, genetics, virtual reality. The LGBT-friendly book has three parts:
I. A FAITHFUL ACCOUNT. A rookie reporter is fascinated by the discovery of a parallel universe behind a wormhole, and how it all began with a bunch of Colorado teenagers. As he gathers information from public records, interviews, and ultimately by direct participation, he develops deep friendships with the strong-minded heroines. The reporter deals with issues technological to societal, from virtual reality suits to the original sin.
II. IN MEMORY OF PAMELA. Mourning the loss of his friend, the reporter writes a fantasy inspired by their conversations and sends it to the twin planet. Placed on an island of Bohemia, it deals with concepts from media bias to the elites and the Tower of Babel. Illustrated comics-style by a talented Earthling descendant--an artform hitherto unknown--it is widely read and heeded as Pamela's message to her native planet.
III. GOODBYE EARTH, HELLO HEAVEN! The adventurous reporter takes his chances as a stowaway on a shuttle run from Ottawa, Canada to Twin. Flying through the wormhole, he experiences an out-of-body trip to the Book of Life, sheds twenty-four years of his earthly age, and discovers the love of his life.
