Elektrische Energiespeichersysteme können zur Verbesserung der energetischen Effizienz elektrischer Fahrzeuge des öffentlichen Personennahverkehrs eingesetzt werden. Die Integration der Energiespeicher bedingt deren leistungselektronische Kopplung mit dem Fahrzeugzwischenkreis. Die in Leistungswandlern eingesetzten Halbleiterelemente unterliegen im Betrieb thermischen Wechselbeanspruchungen, deren Amplitudengänge entscheidenden Einfluss auf die Lebensdauer der Dioden und Transistoren haben. Zur Nachbildung der thermischen Wechselbeanspruchung wird ein geschlossenes Simulationsmodell benötigt, welches zu Beginn der Arbeit nicht verfügbar war. Die vorliegende Arbeit schließt diese Lücke. Darüber hinaus wird auf verschiedene Maßnahmen zur Absenkung der thermischen Wechselbeanspruchung bei möglichst vollständiger Erhaltung des durch Bremsenergierückgewinnung bestehenden Energiesparpotentials eingegangen. Als besonders vorteilhaft erweist sich die Steuerung des Energiespeichers unter Einbeziehung des prädiktiv ermittelten Traktionsleistungsverlaufs für den nächsten Streckenabschnitt. Die neu entwickelte Steuerstrategie bewirkt ohne Hardwareänderung im Leistungsteil des Leistungswandlers neben der angestrebten Absenkung der thermischen Wechselbeanspruchung gleichzeitig eine deutlich bessere Ausnutzung anfallender Bremsenergie. Durch ein im Fahrzeug integriertes Energiespeichersystem kann neben der erhöhten Energieeffizienz auch der vollständige oder lokal begrenzte Verzicht einer kontinuierlichen Energieversorgung des Fahrzeugs erreicht werden. Ein Konzept des Fraunhofer IVI für den Betrieb elektrischer Nahverkehrsmittel macht durch die heute noch stark limitierte Energiedichte verfügbarer Energiespeicher deren Nachladung während des Fahrgastwechsels notwendig. Nachzuladende Energiemenge und nicht veränderliche Fahrgastwechselzeiten erfordern hierfür Energietransfers mit elektrischen Leistungen, die wesentlich über der Antriebsleistung des Fahrzeugs liegen können.
