About the Book

Three alien biological entities (ABE), arrived from a region of deep space on a cold, wet, wintry night in late December. These mysterious life-forms appeared in the sky as soft blue, translucent lights, descending on the small hamlet of Medfield. They were tracked to a massive lake by the local sheriff and a handful of deputies of that villa. Here is where the beings intelligently disclosed to the men their sole purpose for their arrival. "We come to live here," one of the genteel, little, blue-ghostly images said clearly to the lawmen. "But we can't live with you." The entities were in search of hosts, but not just any hosts. They had a preference. They were of the female gender, children, seeking permanent refuge. Eventually, by modest trickery, they possessed the bodies of three orphan girls who ranged in age from twelve to sixteen. Extremely powerful, these host-seeking beings, promised the girls they'd become faster, stronger...better, and they did. However, to their ultimate chagrin, the government set out to destroy them, primarily due to the innate fear of the Unknown. The entities depict great powers and indestructibility, which ultimately is used to protect national security.
About the Author: Born in the small town of Rixie, Arkansas in 1946, Charles H. Woods is from a large family of fourteen. As was the trend for many African Americans, Charles' family was poor. The author did his share of working in the fields and menial labor in an effort to 'stay afloat.' "Looking back," the author reflects, "I'd suggest that we were considerably happy. We were quarantined from the real world. All we knew was that by the sweat of our labor, we had to eke out our meager living." Woods, his father's seventh son, inherited his father's artistic and musical talents. "I was told by my mother that my father was a great pianist, with a relative pitch, and was an exceptional sketch artist." It wasn't until the beginning of his sophomore year in high school that the author developed an interest in writing. "I've always had, what I consider, a great and creative imagination. I can lure the reader to my fiction and scare the pants off them with dark, and sometimes grotesque horror. As quiet as it's kept to myself, I've always been an unpublished author, as far as story-telling goes." The author prefers fiction and is very fond of superheroes. As a child, he would sketch his own comic books complete with the stories. Since the mid-70s, he has written intensely and has several unpublished manuscripts to his credit. Once compared to the late, great Rod Serling (Screenwriter, producer, and host of the hit television series, The Twilight Zone), Charles H. Woods admits that his confidence soared off the scale at the association and propelled him to continue to write. While still in junior high school, it was the advice of a highly intelligent and good friend, William S. Smith (A Syracuse graduate) that cemented the author's quest for publication. "Are you still writing," Smith asked. When Charles responded that he was, Smith challenged him with, "Whatever you do, never quit!" The advice has since been his inspiration. "I still write and I'm loving it!" the author confesses. "And I will continue to write until..."
