Und was unterscheidet sie von den einfachen Mitarbeitern? Was sind überhaupt die Ziele der Personalführung? Das wichtigste in einem Unternehmen sind die Mitarbeiter. Für einen langfristigen Unternehmenserfolg benötigt jede Organisation nicht nur zufriedene Kunden, sondern auch treue Mitarbeiter, die alles tun um möglich wirtschaftliche Erfolge zu erzielen. Deshalb ist es sehr wichtig, seine Mitarbeiter so zu motivieren und zu fördern, dass sie ihr Bestes leisten und somit ihrem Unternehmen den Rücken stärken. Spezialisierte Aufgabenbereiche der Mitarbeiter könnten zu Informationsvorsprüngen gegenüber Vorgesetzten führen. Herausforderungen sollten von den Führungskräften angenommen, interpersonell und aufgabenbezogen geleitet sowie vermehrt Projektleiterrollen übernommen werden. Führung ist eine Folge von Anweisungs-, Koordinations-, und Überwachungsbedarf bei der Aufgabenerledigung und ist immer nur dann bzw. nur dort notwendig, wenn Selbststeuerungsfähigkeit und -bereitschaft von Mitarbeitern nicht ausreichen und diese Lücken dann von Führungskräften gefüllt werden. Durch die immer mehr zunehmende Automatisierung hat sich die Arbeitsbelastung der Arbeitnehmer von einer physischen in eine psychische Belastung verlagert. Durch starke Globalisierung und Wettbewerbsdruck, der technische Fortschritt und der Wertehandel führt es durch Stellenstreichungen zu schlankeren Unternehmenshierarchien.
