Jahrhunderts, 19 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Es gibt viele Argumente gegen die mögliche Existenz eines Gottes - das wohl überzeugendste jedoch ist die so genannte Theodizee-Frage, die im Alltag meist in der Formulierung "Wie kann Gott das zulassen?" zum Ausdruck kommt. Bereits der Bibel ist das Dilemma nicht unbekannt: im alten Testament setzen sich sowohl das Buch Hiob, als auch die Klagepsalme ausführlich mit der Thematik der Theodizee auseinander, und bieten eine für viele Philosophen inakzeptable Lösung. Der französische Philosoph D´Holbach konkretisiert die Problematik in seinem "Gebet eines Atheisten, wenn er sich Gott gegenüber gestellt sähe" folgendermaßen: "Konnte ich deiner Gerechtigkeit huldigen, da ich das Verbrechen so oft siegen sah und die Tugend in Tränen?" Für Georg Büchner verkörpert die Frage nach der Rolle Gottes bezüglich Leid und Schmerz in der Welt gar den "Fels des Atheismus": "Schafft das Unvollkommene weg, dann allein könnt Ihr Gott demonstrieren ... Man kann das Böse leugnen, aber nicht den Schmerz ... Warum leide ich? Das ist der Fels des Atheismus. Das leiseste Zucken des Schmerzes, und rege es sich in einem Atom, macht einen Riss in der Schöpfung von oben bis unten." Für ihn ist jene offensichtliche Diskordanz der Beweis für die Nicht-Existenz Gottes. Auch Albert Camus hat sich in einigen seiner Werke mit dem Dilemma der Existenz von Leid und Schmerz auseinander gesetzt. In seinem Roman "Die Pest" prallen Rationalität und Pragmatismus auf Glaube und Fatalismus, der "Glaube an die Absurdität des Daseins [auf den] Glauben an einen durch Gott verbürgten Sinn des Daseins". Die Befürworter dieser Haltungen - ein Arzt und ein Pfarrer - sind gleichzeitig die Protagonisten, die Geschichte die Nachzeichnung einer Argumentatio
