I am humbled to share what God has done in my life.
When I was about 5 years old, I remember puling on my dad!s coat and telling him I wanted to go forward and be saved. I met with Pastor Lingle and he talked about Jesus and the price He paid on the cross. I prayed to receive Jesus as my Savior.
When I was 14 years old there was a revival at Bell Shoals Baptist Church in Brandon, FL. I cannot remember the message, but a couple questions were ingrained into my heart...
Have you fully surrendered and made Jesus the Lord of your life? Have you given Him full control?
At that point, I do not believe I had done this. So, during the revival I prayed to receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I surrendered everything to Him that night. I have never been the same.
My husband and I have been in ministry for over 30 years. Charlie is the one who was on staff in all the churches, but I had my own personal calling to serve the Lord everywhere we went. I taught Bible studies, led Women!s Retreats and sang on the praise team.
The years of ministry have been a blessing. I am so thankful to God for the friendships I have made and the people God has used to speak into my life.
Yet, in all the blessings, there have been hard times. I have been involved in 6 car accidents. I have damage to my cervical and lumbar spine. I also struggle with the symptoms of fibromylgia. In 2012, I fell leaving work and ended up being unable to return to work and had to file for disability.
I am in pain on a daily basis, but I do not want this to define me... I want people to see Jesus and the joy of the Lord is my strength.
"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and HE HELPS ME. My heart leaps for joy and with my song I will praise Him." Psalm 28:7
