My story begins two days before my nineteenth birthday as I prepare for the celebration and an interview for employment with The RTA. The RTA is the region's public transportation agency and the employment mecca for many of my immediate and distant relatives. I am single and have been since September of the prior year because my high school sweetheart, long time friend and lover, Kimberly broke it off with me. However, we still have a connection, a connection that brings us together on many occasions because of our family's history and because our love for one another has not faded. Follow my story as I try to regain the life I had with Kimberly and the struggles I endure the setbacks created by my lazy, pleasure seeking ways. My story is not completely unique to those of my brothers and sisters in this industry but these stories are quintessential and exclusive because they are mine. There are many of my colleagues around the country and the world that probably have had the same exploits but you will be reading those that have occurred in my life. About the Author: TC Maverick was born in New York City. He spent much of his childhood in Washington Heights, Manhattan and The South Bronx but has lived in Brooklyn, Queens and New Jersey and attended A.E. Smith High School. In the 1980's he embarked on a career in the transportation industry that began with The Port Authority of NY/NJ and led him full circle back to the Port. Along the way, he has worked as a Conductor, Train Engineer, Bus Operator and in a Supervisory capacity with The New York City Transit Authority, New Jersey Transit and numerous private bus companies in the tri-state area. During his 26 years of public service he's driven limos and even worked for The New York State Department of Correctional Services. It took him nearly two years to turn his life's events into a book. He was literally writing and proofreading while at work in between train movements. In addition, he wrote the majority of this book as well as the forthcoming "TG4U Presents: My Life In Transit: A Conductor's Story," on a Blackberry to start, then a PC, a Mac and finally an IPhone. "It was a fun challenge" he said. The timeline many may recognize by the music or some of the scenery described in the book but the most difficult part of writing this novel was changing the names of the people he encounter that led to this production. "Challenging indeed!" he stated. The book was the brainstorm of emails and erotic phone conversations he had with women in his past. "Some of my ex's would say damn you're good at that. You should write or something," after phone conversations. But it was after an email comment from one young lady that he began to really entertain the thought. Five years later this is the result. "I truly hope you enjoy it!"
