Este libro lo he usado como apuntes para mis clases de ética que se dictan en el primer semestre de la carrera de filosofía. Por dirigirse a jóvenes estudiantes que comienzan sus estudios he intentado explicar las cuestiones de la manera lo más simple posible. Sin embargo, hago referencias a otras obras mías que pueden permitir a los estudiantes, aún a los más avanzados, a ampliar la temática expuesta.No resumo aquí lo ya indicado en otras éticas que he escrito en los últimos cuarenta años, sino que avanzo nuevas hipótesis de trabajo, como la definición de la ética como la teoría general de todos los campos prácticos (tesis 1), o el discernir claramente en la parte crítica de esta obra (Segunda parte) el momento negativo de los principios (tesis 10 y 11) del momento positivo (tesis 12), lo que permite no solamente mayor claridad sino que explicita el momento normativo de-constructivo de un orden injusto, éticamente malo, del momento creador o innovador, y así en numerosos aspectos que iremos mostrando novedades en el desarrollo de la obra.

Enrique Dussel nació el 24 de Diciembre de 1934, en el pueblo de La Paz, Mendoza, Argentina. Exiliado político desde 1975 en México, hoy ciudadano mexicano, es profesor en el Departamento de Filosofía en la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM, Iztapalapa, ciudad de México), y en el Colegio de Filosofía de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la UNAM (Ciudad Universitaria). Licenciado en Filosofía ( Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina), doctor en filosofía por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, doctor en historia en La Sorbonne de París y una licenciatura en teología en París y Münster. Ha obtenido doctorados honoris causa en Freiburg (Suiza) y en la Universidad de San Andrés ( La Paz, Bolivia). Fundador con toros del movimiento Filosofía de la Liberación. Trabaja especialmente en el campo de la Ética y la Filosofía Política.
