Genocidio y violencia política en América Latina analiza las características de la Doctrina de Seguridad Nacional, señalando elementos comunes y especificidades de cada experiencia, tanto a nivel de los modos de implementación de las prácticas represivas como de la construcción de la memoria y la posibilidad de juzgamiento.
El libro se conforma con trabajos de investigadores pertenecientes a los equipos de Daniel Feierstein en la Universidad de Buenos Aires y en la Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero, incluyendo análisis de los casos de Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras y Uruguay. A ello se suman aportes como los de Alvaro Rico (profesor e investigador de la Universidad de la República, Uruguay), de Gabriel Périès (investigador francés especializado en la doctrina francesa de contrainsurgencia) y de Marcelo Ferreira (Cátedra Libre de Derechos Humanos de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de UBA, miembro del Jurado del Tribunal Permanente de los Pueblos en el caso colombiano). Con un minucioso análisis conceptual y documental, el libro aborda la pertinencia de conceptos como los de guerra, genocidio o Estado terrorista para dar cuenta de las características y consecuencias de los procesos de reorganización social implementados en toda América Latina

Daniel Feierstein es Doctor en Ciencias Sociales por la Universidad de Buenos Aires. Es investigador del CONICET, dirige el Centro de Estudios sobre Genocidio de la Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero y es titular de la Cátedra Análisis de las Prácticas Sociales Genocidas en la Universidad de Buenos Aires.
