About the Book

A history driven story about a group of Cambridge University students who stumble into a century's old feud between ancient enemies. Being young and brash, the students choose sides without knowing that when the stakes are this high, lethal force is fair play. Lured by the thrill of discovery and fortunes in the offing, Mason, Tegan, Chris, and Mallory start sniffing around one of the Vatican's more closely guarded secrets, unaware that Deus's machina already has them on the radar. Seeing only fame and fortune, the four of them happily rush towards the storm clouds gathering on the horizon. Terracide introduces the reader to the pre-colonial world, a world every bit as colourful and marvelous as the avian world, where culturally diverse pockets of sub-species came to be scattered over six continents like leaves in an autumn wind. Written off by colonizers as uncivilized barbarians good for manual labour and not much else, one branch of one family persevered, by keeping a cache of secret documents, they were able to preserve their pre-colonization identity. Hoarded over centuries, their collection of secrets is rife with evidence of war crimes, genocide, and crimes against future generations.
It takes time for Mason and Tegan to understand what's happening, but a story eventually emerges from the translated pages of an old diary. As a center of free thinking, Cambridge England was the perfect place for the Eglesich clan, the last descendants of Lithuania's assassinated king, to seek refuge from the long arm of the Catholic Inquisition. After hiding in plain sight for generations, a witch hunt exposes first a child, then a family, to the rigours of a medieval interrogation. When the story they tell is confirmed by files in the Vatican Archives, a manhunt destined to last into the 21st century, kicks off.

As the years pass, the importance of the king's heir pales in comparison to the documentation of what the family calls, the greatest tale ever forbidden. Beginning in the 7th century AD, a union between Church and State began overthrowing indigenous ruled nations on an industrial scale. By the end of the 8th century, the union yielded the greatest land exchange in human history, ownership of Western Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. As crooked a deal as any in history, the conquest was a centuries long act of violence, a blitzkrieg that yielded control of the modern world. When it was over, the new world order started weaving lies into the historical record, legitimizing their reign at the expense of the old, indigenous, world order. Protected by blasphemy laws that were universally applied, the story of the Roman Empire's coalition of indigenous nations was made to be forgotten. But not everyone was deceived.

By adding fictional characters to the true story of Europe's last indigenous nations, the story of mankind's shift away from his role as caretaker of the earth becomes recognizable as a story that begs to be told. On the eve of the greatest period of transition in human history, it might be time to pay attention, lest you and yours get drawn into a war that will not end all wars. Only the fittest familia are going to survive into the next era. There is much more to learn and to preserve than a single book can reproduce, but a journey of discovery into your past by you, could open the door to a world of possibility. A mix of ancient wisdom and modern solutions could be just the thing to ensure your people are fit enough for survival in a world where infighting over resources is only just getting serious.
