Un'incantevole odissea visiva senza distrazioni testuali, ti invita a intraprendere un viaggio attraverso l'obiettivo di un fotografo esperto alimentato da una passione sfrenata per lo straordinario. Ambientata nel vibrante sfondo del West-End di Londra, vicino all'iconico Piccadilly Circus, la nostra esplorazione prende il volo con l'acquisizione di un formidabile teleobiettivo alla tenera età di 15 anni negli anni '70: un marchio russo MTO 1000mm f11, emblema del l'insaziabile ricerca del fotografo verso nuove vette.

Un divertente aneddoto marinaro si intreccia, rivelando una caccia giovanile agli squali tra pescatori esperti contenti dello sgombro. Lo spettacolo di un determinato ragazzo di 13 o 14 anni armato di un gancio gigante ha portato alla decisione comica di legarlo alla barca, una misura presa non per perseguire la fotografia ma alla ricerca di sfuggenti creature marine.

Gli anni '70 videro l'emergere di quello che potrebbe essere il fotografo semiprofessionale più giovane del mondo. In mezzo al ronzio costante di una radio della polizia, si è svolta una routine unica. Lo sviluppo della pellicola è avvenuto negli intimi confini di un armadio per i vestiti, dove la finezza manuale ha guidato la pellicola attraverso lo sviluppatore e il fissatore fino a quando un serbatoio di sviluppo della pellicola alla luce del giorno ha inaugurato un tocco di modernità.

Entra nel formidabile obiettivo russo MTO da 1000 mm, un concentrato di potenza con sfide di vignettatura. Non avendo familiarità con il termine, sia l'obiettivo che il fotografo persistettero, svelando gradualmente i compromessi intrinseci delle lenti a specchio e dei telescopi.

La fotografia, trascendendo la mera arte, è emersa come mezzo di fuga dalle complessità della Londra degli anni '70. Un mondo sconfinato richiedeva esplorazione, spingendo il fotografo a catturarne l'essenza attraverso il potente sguardo dei teleobiettivi.

Sfidando le convenzioni, secondo le quali un obiettivo da 50 mm potrebbe essere sufficiente per la maggior parte dei soggetti, la narrativa visiva di Kypros si svolge attraverso un obiettivo da 500 mm. All'inizio degli anni '90 i confini vengono spinti ancora più in là, fino ai regni superpotenti, a 4.000 mm.
