TEASPERGER es el nombre ficticio de un personaje que supuestamente 'padece' lo que se llama el síndrome de Asperger, perteneciente al TEA o Trastorno del Espectro Autista, en donde el Manual Diagnóstico y Estadístico de los Trastornos Mentales o DSM-V, al igual que el CIE-11 de la O.M.S. colocan al autismo y otros trastornos del neurodesarrollo. Al autor le parece un disparate que al asperger se le confunda demasiadas veces (incluso en películas que tratan sobre este tema), con el autista y afirma que ni uno ni otro son enfermos. Es cierto que ambos funcionan en la vida, en algunas circunstancias, con respuestas que delatan una mente diferente, que sería la de aquel que funciona según 'exige' la sociedad en la que viven. Y es que su mente diferente actúa de otra manera. Confundir a un asperger con un autista y a veces incluso con un down, no les hace ningún favor a ninguno de los dos. Al asperger porque le hace sentirse tonto, y no lo es, y a los demás porque puedan pensar que podrían llegar adonde el asperger. Flaco favor, porque el trastorno en el neurodesarrollo de un asperger no tiene ninguna base fisiológica, como sí la tiene, el down, por ejemplo, cuyo cromosoma 21 le da una cierta discapacidad superior y esa apariencia angelical que todos detectamos al instante; y el trastorno del autismo que, aunque no tenga una base fisiológica aparenemente tampoco, sí tiene una gran diferencia con el asperger y es que éste "no tiene déficit intelectual acompañante, ni discapacidad intelectual asociada, ni dificultades en aspectos formales del lenguaje". Ésa es la marca precisamente su mente diferente. Es más si comparamos el comportamiento social de un autista con el de un asperger, podremos distinguir a simple vista, cuál es el autista y más difícilmente el asperger. Hay autistas y downs que llegan a lo más alto, casi tanto, en algunos casos, como los normotípicos, pero un asperger no tiene límites hacia arriba. Una autista reconocida, como la doctora e inventora Mary T. Grandin asegura que las mentes diferentes son necesarias en las sociedades y es que estas mentes diferentes son autoras de enormes beneficios para la Humanidad, desde obras literarias de primera fila hasta grandes descubrimientos e inventos que salieron de esas mentes diferentes y especiales que son prácticamente siempre de personas con asperger. Bien es verdad que los estudios en serio sobre el síndrome de Asperger se iniciaron en 1943 con Hans Asperger y que todo lo anterior a esas fechas son sólo suposiciones. Sus hallazgos, sin los cuales hoy no sabríamos vivir, como son: leyes naturales, electricidad, telecomunicaciones, informática, física y química y un muy largo etcétera en diversos campos. A una mente asperger difícilmente se le escapan saberes en los que su mente diferente y escrutadora no haya posado su atención. Se suele decir que un asperger es una persona tímida, inhibida, rara, ensimismada, retraída, introvertida, que no sabe comunicarse, etc., y que eso es algo negativo. ¿Negativo para quién? Un asperger tiene o puede tener unos valores de honradez, honestidad, ética, social, compasión, servicio, etc., mucho más elevados y sin dobleces que un normotípico cualquiera. Alguien dijo una vez que, si el mundo fuera gobernado por los asperger, no habría guerra alguna en él. Desgraciadamente los asperger no tienen demasiadas cualidades para gobernar.
