About the Book

Words can pierce the heart and destroy the soul, and at the same time, turn a life around. Poetry has the power to heal the pain of millions. Etched within the minds of children are countless rhymes that bring comfort during childhood and then progress into timeless classics that become daily affirmations in the lives of many. The familiarity these words have ring a specific truth to the reader who holds them dear. Whether they be lyrics to songs or poems well remembered, whether they be philosophical, whimsical, or melodically written, whether they are written in the form of greeting cards, love letters, literature books, or within the great classics that line our library shelves, they bring a form of art that touches the human spirit beyond measure.
Within the pages of this book, you will find my expression of numerous circumstances and emotions as scenes unfold within the lines of poetry.

"I've known Kay and her poetry for several years now. Not only has she been a great friend, but her poetry helped me get through some tough times in my life. When my marriage failed after over 17 years together, Kay's poetry touched me in a most profound way. Her words were a source of comfort and hope. As I moved on with my life, discovered who I was as an adult and found love again, Kay and her poetry were a steady friend to help me along. Her words cover many subjects, but there is always something for everyone and every occasion."
Joseph H. Shirey
Major, United States Air Force
Izmir, Turkey

"A poetess like Kay Salady comes along only once in a generation, if then. Here is a great lady, who wrote her poetry with heart, soul and even if her life; who also understood what she saw and thought and wrote brilliantly. She has made a unique contribution to our world which is in a transitional period. From beginning to end, a fascinating book."
Mr. Jirong Sheng
Translator, university English teacher & economic consultant of P.R. China

Kay Salady is a highly talented up and coming prose stylist, introducing her first book, A Teardrop Fell. She began her academic career studying English literature and stenography. She has worked in both real estate and civil engineering before receiving her calling as a poet. Kay spends her time studying anthropology and humanities. She enjoys singing, belly dancing, arts and crafts, karate, and is currently working on her second book. Many have described her as an excellent friend and confidant. She has always prompted others to explore and consider the world around them. Her greatest joy is bringing peace and happiness to others through her work. She lives in northeastern Arizona with her two children and was honored as Mother of the Year in 2002. Kay was born in Alliance, Ohio in 1958.
Traverse into the private thoughts of a woman as she reveals her innermost being through poetic verse. As you accompany her along life's journey, her days and nights unfold before you as she dedicates herself to seek the greatest gift of all, and through that gift, she finds wisdom.
Unraveling the threads that weave the tapestries of life can be beneficial as well as detrimental when searching out self. The journey within leads the way to external truth, and having found this insight, it is the obligation of the seeker to share it with others.
Profound truths can be found within ourselves by seeing similarities in others through shared experiences and thoughts. As we truly listen to the voice within, we find greater awareness of the voices which surround us. It is within this great circle that we find both inner strength and unity.
